Suffolk County Real Estate

Suffolk County was originally founded by early settlers who came from the original county of Suffolk in England. Along with Nassau County, Suffolk County combines to form Long Island proper. It is located on the eastern portion of the island and is the easternmost county in the state of New York.

Suffolk County enjoys a very low crime rate and is considered one of the safest counties in the nation. The population of Suffolk County is largely upper class and is considered one of the wealthiest counties in the United States.

Suffolk County was established in 1683 and is notable for being one of the original twelve counties of New York. The county made its reputation on its agricultural industry and that reputation stands today. Even amidst extensive development of real estate in Long Island, it's temperate climate, good soil, clean water, and dedicated agricultural professionals continue to make Suffolk County a state agricultural leader. The county is the second largest by area in New York, 912 square miles of which is land and the rest water.
